Northern Grid will confirm receipt of your complaint and once this is confirmed to be valid will take down the materials. The contributor of the materials will be contacted and an agreement between all parties sought.

Depending on the agreement reached the materials will be:

  • Replaced on the website
  • Modified and then replaced
  • Removed permanently

Data Protection

The Northern Grid for Learning is registered with the Data Protection Act.

All contributors to the Northern Grid website must provide their name and email address. These will be held by the Northern Grid and used to check authenticity of contributors. In some instances, the name of contributors will be displayed within the website. Other contact details will only be displayed with permission from the originating source.

Where pupils' work is displayed, material will show the first name of the pupil and their school.

Privacy

Northern Grid will seek to securely hold any personal information submitted through the website. This information will only be knowingly disclosed when Northern Grid is obliged so to do by law enforcement or government agencies. Users should note that where offensive or inappropriate material is submitted to Northern Grid, the company reserves the right to inform an appropriate authority and to pass on the user’s personal details.

As a condition of use of its networks Northern Grid reserves the right to undertake whatever actions it considers appropriate to identify malicious or vindictive attacks on the regional broadband networks and any conduct that is otherwise deemed to be inappropriate. Should the source of any such attack or behaviour be identified, Northern Grid may without notice take appropriate legal action, take whatever practical action is necessary and inform any appropriate bodies. This may include without limitation informing law enforcement agencies and employers.

Comments Policy

Northern Grid welcomes comments from all visitors to our website. All comments are moderated before being published. When commenting you will be asked to enter your name and this will be shown on the website.
